Hi everyone,

My name is James Woodhouse and I am conducting a study for my research thesis, as part of my Bachelor of Psychological Science Honours program. I am looking at how people experience wellbeing through regular Qigong practice. I am interested in how practicing Qigong can increase or improve wellbeing, especially with extended practice.

I am looking for participants who practice Qigong and have experienced wellbeing as a result of the practice. Ideally, participants have practiced for roughly 2 months or more. The study consists of an interview, containing four questions to discuss how you have experienced wellbeing through your practice. I am interested to learn how Qigong can influence your day-to-day experiences of wellbeing. If anyone is interested in participating or has any questions, please contact me on my email address, james.woodhouse@my.acap.edu.au and I will send you some more information. Participation is completely voluntary and nobody is under any obligation to participate. Additionally, if you have any questions please feel free to email the supervisor of this research, Associate Professor Eric Brymer, email: eric.brymer@acap.edu.au.

Thanks again for all your help Tunde,

Kind regards,

James Woodhouse

Hi Tunde,

My name is James Woodhouse and I am currently a Bachelor of Psychological Science Honours Student at the Australian College of Applied Psychology (ACAP). I am undertaking a research project, involving a thesis for completion of my Honours degree, which is being supervised by Associate Professor Eric Brymer. I am interested in how people experience wellbeing through regular Qigong practice. Given that you teach Qigong, I thought you may be an appropriate person to contact.

My study involves 45 – 90 minute interviews asking participants questions regarding how they have experienced well being through regular Qigong practice. My study has been ethically approved, HREC approval #510280519.

I will need to recruit some participants to gather the data for my study, and I am looking at local Qigong groups. Would I be able to speak to your class at any point before or after class to inform them about my study and enquire if anyone would be interested? I will inform them about the purpose of this study, and then any participants who are interested can voluntarily take my contact details to consider participation in this study.

Please let me know if you have any questions or alternatively if you like you can contact my supervisor Associate Professor Eric Brymer ateric.brymer@acap.edu.au

Thank you very much for your time.

Kind regards,

James Woodhouse
